FIFA have this afternoon declared that James Rodriguez’s drop-dead gorgeous volley against Uruguay in the second round has been officially voted the 2014 World Cup’s Goal of the Tournament, beating Robin van Persie’s swan dive header against Spain into second place – which gives us a good excuse to marvel at it’s immaculate majesty all over again…

No wonder he’s Real Madrid bound. There’s gold in them thar boots!

    Excellent.

…but this may sound VERY nit-picky, but I swear Muslera got a fingertip to it.

Nothing wrong with that of course, but it took away from the perfection for me.

As I said, a tiny irritation on a simply sublime piece of power & skill.

He’ll light La Liga up no worries.
