We’re almost half-expecting to hear that Adnan Januzaj has been ruled out of the entire World Cup after the winger found himself on the wrong end of a ridiculously stiff tackle from Kevin de Bruyne during Belgium’s training session on Friday morning.

Without context it’s difficult to know if this is adrenaline-fuelled over-commitment or pure mard-arsed petulance from De Bruyne, or whether indeed Januzaj deserved to be smeared into the turf for a prior transgression of some description.
Either way, it doesn’t exactly speak to the harmony within Roberto Martinez’s squad ahead of their Group G opener against Panama next week.
