Cometh the hour, cometh the man for the big occasion. Just three minutes had elapsed of Portugal’s big Group B opener against Spain when Cristiano Ronaldo made his presence felt.

The Real Madrid man went squirming over clubmate Nacho’s kneecap inside the Spanish area to con himself a penalty, which he duly converted past David De Gea with what experts usually refer to as ‘aplomb’…

Soft as a warm bowl of leite creme. Such is football.

Safe to say, this one is shaping up to be a bit of a ding-dong.
