A German mayor has accused a boy’s soccer team of giving Nazi salutes to German
opponents during a friendly tournament in Sweden.
The
mayor of Steglitz-Zehlendorf, near Berlin, has penned a letter of complaint to the tournament organisers in Blekinge. Youngsters from Norwegian
and Swedish football teams are alleged to have greeted the arrival of the
young German players onto the pitch with Nazi salutes.

‘There was quite a
bit of unpleasantness, and that can happen even when 15-year-olds play
football. The German team was no better than anyone else, but that
doesn’t excuse Nazi salutes and "Sieg Heil" chatter,’ Stefan MÃ¥nsson, one of the tournament organisers, told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.
