After all the bans, fines, tantrums, sulking and cross words, that loveable rogue Carlos Tevez has finally decided to swallow his pride and apologise to Manchester City for his behaviour over the past six months.
A statement released by the Argentinian hitman said:
“I wish to apologise sincerely and unreservedly to everybody I have let down and to whom my actions have caused offence. My wish is to concentrate on playing football for Manchester City Football Club.”
Tevez has also dropped his appeal against City’s misconduct charge as he attempts to rebuild his relationship and indeed, career, with the club. All this heartfelt contrition has no doubt been influenced by the player’s failure to secure a deal in either Serie A or Ligue 1, leaving him with little option but to return to Manchester with his tail between his legs.
Apparently, Tevez and Roberto Mancini have yet to actually speak to each other since the start of the controversy back in September. However, this move by Tevez does mean that the two parties can now work together again, at least until the summer.
