You can’t beat a good old-fashioned touchline spat, can you?! During Hull City’s tense relegation clash with Sunderland on Tuesday night, Tigers’ boss Steve Bruce and his Sunderland counterpart Gustavo Poyet got themselves rather worked up just before half-time.

The incident started when Black Cats’ midfielder Jack Rodwell was booked for a dive when clean through on goal. This decision incensed the ‘passionate’ Poyet who duly kicked a bucket of drinks at the side of the pitch, which lead to the Uruguayan being sent to the stands.

However, before leaving the technical are, Poyet walked over to Bruce and while attempting to shake his hand, said something which Bruce obviously didn’t appreciate. Cue both managers being held back like drunken goons outside a pub.

The game would eventually end in a 1-1 draw, with Dame N’Doye’s early back-heeled effort levelled by a late equaliser from Rodwell. That result sees the Tigers in 15th and the Black Cats a place below.

Here’s the action…

And here’s Bruce’s views on the incident…
