Permatanned Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has today been bragging about his cunning plan to secure the ownership of Selhurst Park. The dastardly Jordan hid behind a Singapore financier so that he did not have to cross swords again with former chairman Ron Noades while securing the freehold in a £12 million deal.
He said: "Given the nature of my relationship with the landlord it has made it difficult to negotiate a deal. I have used the structure – unbeknownst to Ron, I suspect – to purchase the freehold, which we exchanged on Friday last week." Evil laugh to fade? No, Jordan opted for this gem instead: "I have the stomach and the balls to take this club forward."
