Two of Jose Mourinho’s heavyweight summer-signings combined superbly to create a goal for Chelsea in their pre-season friendly away to Slovenian side NK Olimpija Ljubljana.
Ex-Barcelona man Cesc Fabregas was the architect of the goal, sliding the ball through to ex-Atletico Madrid hitman Diego Costa, who lashed the ball home. Kurt Zouma also scored for the west Londoners, who came from a goal down to win the game 2-1.
Expect to see a lot more of the Fabregas/Costa combo in the coming Premier League season.
Here’s the Chelsea first and second-half line-ups, for those interested in such things!
First half line-up (4-2-3-1): Delac; Azpilicueta, Zouma, Cahill (c), Luis; Fabregas, Matic; Salah, Boga, Brown; Costa.
