After a nightmare year at Old Trafford, Manchester United’s forgotten man Victor Valdés looks set for a loan move to Belgian side Standard Liege.
The former Barcelona ‘keeper penned an 18-month contract when he joined the Red Devils back in January 2015. However, he made a grand total of just two appearances with the club and was ultimately frozen out of the first team’s plans by Louis van Gaal after apparently refusing to line out for the United reserves.
On Thursday, the 34-year-old posted a farewell message to United fans, with Belgian Pro League stalwarts Standard Liege the expected destination, at least until the end of the season.

Winning three Champions Leagues, a World Cup and a European Championship, Valdes would no doubt have expected a bit more playing time in Manchester. However, now the nightmare looks set to finally end.
