Rafa Benitez has agreed a three-year deal to take over at Newcastle United.
Not our words; the words of the The Daily Express, who cite Spanish sources (specifically Cadena Cope radio station) who claim to be privy to the fact that Benitez has signed a deal to replace Steve McClaren at the Toon’s cursed helm.
McClaren was scheduled to give a press conference before next Monday’s game against Leicester City, but it has since been scrubbed from the itinerary, giving rise to rumours that he’ll be out of a job by then.
With 10 games remaining to haul Newcastle up and out of the relegation zone, Rafa’s definitely going to have his work cut out.
