The entire Roma squad donned special t-shirts in a gesture of solidarity with the Liverpool fan who was stabbed and critically injured by hoodlums before last week’s Champions League semi-final first leg between the two sides.
Irish fan Sean Cox, 53, was attacked by Roma ultras outside a pub in close proximity to Anfield before the game and has only just been revived from the medically-induced coma he was placed under at hospital in the aftermath. He continues to fight for his life.
Roma president James Pallotta used strong words to condemn the “f**king morons” responsible, who have since both been arrested and charged by Merseyside police and will go on trial next month.

Ahead of the second leg in Rome, the Giallorossi warmed up while wearing shirts bearing an important message, with each player sporting the message ‘Forza Sean’ during the Monday afternoon training session at Trigoria.
Forza Sean, indeed. Here’s wishing him a fast and full recovery.
