West Ham have gone and got themselves a new manager in the shape of ex-Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
The 64-year-old Chilean cut short his stint at Hebei China Fortune to make the switch back to the Premier League and has since signed a three-year contract with the Hammers.
He replaces David Moyes, who left the London Stadium recently upon the culmination of his six-month tenure.
Announcing the news on West Ham’s official website, co-chairman David Sullivan bleated:
I am delighted to welcome Manuel Pellegrini to West Ham United. He is one of the world’s most respected football coaches and we look forward to working with him.
“It was important that we appointed someone with knowledge and experience of the Premier League, who already has an understanding – not only of the teams and players we face – but of West Ham United and our ambitions. We have listened to fans who asked us to be ambitious. We hope they agree it is an exciting appointment.
Word on the wire is that Pellegrini is now the highest paid manager in West Ham’s history thanks to his aforementioned £7/8million-a-year deal.
Understand Manuel Pellegrini is on an £8m-a-year contract over the three years at West Ham. Bonuses could see it rise to around £10m (league finish, winning a cup etc etc).

Best of luck getting that rabble into some form of functional order, Manuel.
