Word has it that Chelsea have shuffled a step closer to signing Aleksandr Golovin after striking a deal with his club, CSKA Moscow.
Calciomercato journalist Matteo Pedrosi is claiming to have the inside track on the machinations, reporting that the Blues have agreed terms with their Russian counterparts after increasing their offer to €22million.
Chelsea’s position has been strengthened by CSKA knocking back a rival offer from Monaco, with it looking increasingly likely that Golovin will move to Stamford Bridge on a five-year deal before the end of the week.
There’s every chance the 22-year-old attacking midfielder will serve as a direct replacement for either Willian or Eden Hazard, both of whom have found themselves strongly linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively over the past couple of weeks.
As ever, we shall endeavour to keep you posted.
