Wayne Rooney had quite an eventful game with DC United on Sunday, scoring his first goal for the club and then breaking his nose in their 2-1 MLS victory over Colorado Rapids.
Former Everton and Man Utd star Rooney netted the opener in the game, firing through the legs of his former United team-mate Tim Howard to finally get off the mark for DC United in his fourth appearance for the club.
However, Kellyn Acosta’s goal for Colorado set up a dramatic finale, with Niki Jackson putting through his own net to put DC United 2-1 up.
There was still time for more action, with the 32-year-old Rooney breaking his nose after a clash of heads with Colorado’s Axel Sjoberg after a corner.

What a man!
Quite an eventful appearance by Rooney, who made the move across the Atlantic in June.
After the game, Rooney Tweeted…
And a broken nose and 5 stitches 🙈🤪

Despite the victory, DC United stay bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference.
