Cork City will play Dundalk in the FAI Cup final for the fourth year in a row after the former beat Bohemians 2-1 in the semi-finals on Monday evening.
A couple of first-half goals from Graham Cummins and Karl Sheppard were enough to see Cork across the line safely, but they did have to withstand a second-half rally from Bohs, who pulled one back in the 59th minute through centre-back Ian Morris.
This wasn’t you’re average ‘bundle-one-in-from-a-set-piece’ centre-back goal either, oh no – this was an absolutely monumental 40-yard drive that went fizzing in off the underside of the crossbar…
A goal good enough to win anyway match, but, y’know, it didn’t.
Cork will now face Dundalk (again) in the final (again) at the Aviva Stadium (again) in November (again).
