Now that the quarterfinal draw for the Champions League has been made with teams separated into opposite halves, fans who prefer not to ‘take one game at a time’ will be analysing various permutations to predict this season’s final.
There’s still a chance of an all-English occasion with Man United in the opposite side of the draw to the other three English teams `- Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. If that did happen then our first choice would be between the nation’s rival European ambassadors Man United and Liverpool – a game that would carry bragging rights for years to come.
But, from a footballing viewpoint, we’d like to see a rematch of the 2006 final between Arsenal and Barcelona – arguably the two most stylish teams still in the competition. If Arsenal can prevent having their goalkeeper sent off early then this could be a great game – especially with Henry facing the club he left to chase European glory.
Let us know what your dream final would be.
