A Paris St Germain fan was apparently hospitalised after he was hit by Thiago Motta’s car outside Le Bourget airport on Wednesday night.

A group of angry fans waited outside the Paris airport for the PSG players to arrive home from their shock 6-1 defeat in Barcelona, and it soon turned nasty when they surrounded Motta’s car.

The Italian international drove his car (rather slowly) in the direction of one of the fans, bumping into him and, according to some reports, leaving him with a ‘wound on his back’ which needs hospital treatment. Although it doesn’t look like much of a collision to us.

The car of Brazilian defender Marquinhos was also apparently vandalised by the vexed mob, with the airport security team apparently unprepared for the situation.

In light of the scenes, PSG released the following statement:

The players were confronted and threatened by several individuals at Bourget Airport, despite the club and authorities reinforcing security.

These individuals verbally insulted the players before vandalising their cars. Several vehicles were damaged.

One individual was struck by a car trying to escape the crowd that was physically threatening the players and their families. A police investigation is under way to establish exactly what happened.

The club, and all those present, have informed the investigators of their readiness to help the investigation, to get to the bottom of this regrettable incident.

All rather silly really!

How long before we see Arsene Wenger ploughing his car into the Arsenal Fan TV chaps outside the Emirates?
