Finding himself in the requisite neck of the woods, Andrea Pirlo took time out of his family trip to London to pop into the Chelsea training ground on Friday morning.
There, Pirlo managed to sneak a quick pow-wow with his former manager, Antonio Conte, while the Blues limbered up for Sunday’s Premier League tie with West Brom.

The pair, who won a hat-trick of Scudettos together at Juventus, enjoyed a brief catch-up at Cobham – nothing more, nothing less.
Of course, Conte was then asked at his Friday press conference whether Pirlo would be training with Chelsea during the MLS off-season, to which he replied:
He was only here to see me. He is still able to do a good training session.
I’m pleased for this visit. Andrea was my player for three years and we won together.
A couple of the Chelsea brigade managed to grab photos with Pirlo, before he wafted out of the door leaving just the merest, almost vapour-like scent of red wine and fine musk in his wake…
Tomorrow: Andrea visits Dagenham & Redbridge to sample the homemade shepherd’s pie everybody’s always banging on about.
