Photos: Atletico Madrid 2-2 Chelsea, Champions League

Boy, are Chelsea gonna miss Didier Drogba when he goes to the African Cup of Nations in January. The Ivorian took on Atletico almost single-handedly (single-footedly!?) last night, with two goals capping a superb performance. Chelsea have made it through to the knockout stages, and I’d be very surprised if they didn’t make the last four again.

Madrid played their part too, and perhaps this battling performance will jump-start their domestic season. Supersub Sergio Aguero, once a transfer target for Chelsea, scored both goals for the hosts, including a late free-kick that levelled the scores. Quite right too, as Madrid didn’t deserve to lose this game.
