Rafa says ‘sorry’ to Liverpool fans

10th, January 2007

Benitez1Rafael Benitez has issued an apology to Liverpool fans following their 6-3 trouncing by Arsenal at Anfield last night: "It is a bad night for us all and all we can say is sorry to the supporters."

He avoided blaming Jerzy Dudek for his first-half blunders, saying: "Now is not the time to point the finger or look to blame people. We win together and we lose together."

"The problem was conceding four goals in the first half. When you are faced with a scoreline like that it is very difficult to manage the game.

Benitez may find it takes more than an apology for Liverpool fans to forget their biggest home defeat in 77 years.
