Man City kept the pressure on Liverpool and Chelsea with an impressive win against strugglers West Brom on Monday night. Two goals within 10 minutes, courtesy of strikes from Pablo Zabaleta and Sergio Aguero, the Citizens enjoyed the perfect start to the game.

Graham Dorrans did pull one back for the Baggies on 16 minutes with a fine strike but the home side always looks threatening and eventually went 3-1 up when yet another Argentinian, Martin Demichelis, score before half-time. One negative from the game for Manuel Pellegrini was the injury to David Silva which saw him stretchered off which is sure to be a doubt for both City and Spain ahead of the World Cup.

City are now six points behind Liverpool with a game in hand while Pepe Mel’s Baggies are just three points clear of danger.
