QPR were condemned to a Championship return after the Hoops suffered an utter battering on Sunday.
Sergio Aguero opened the scoring after just four minutes when he ran through the feeble Rangers’ defence.
Aleksandar Kolarov doubled the hosts’ advantage with a free-kick just after the half-hour mark.
After the break, the Hoops crumbled, with Aguero netting on 50 minutes after dispossessing Yun Suk-Young , before securing his hat-trick with a penalty on 65 minutes.
James Milner then added to the rout.
Finally, the superb David Silva made it 6-0 at the death, after a superb back-heel from Wilfried Bony.
The results sees Chris Ramsey’s side relegated after just one season back in the top-tier. As for Manuel Pellegrini’s Citizens, they go three points clear of third-placed Arsenal, albeit having played two games more.
