Word on the wire is that Manchester United think they have a very real chance of wrapping up a £7 million deal for Inter Milan ‘keeper Julio Cesar, after the Brazilian international fairly innocuously claimed to love the ‘atmosphere and passion’ of English football recently.
Which all-in-all sounds like a rather flimsy basis, no? Not to the Sun it don’t.
The red top have taken the 31-year-old Inter stopper’s comments as gospel that he is pining for a move to the Premier League and, with United increasingly keen to draft in an experienced replacement for outbound custodian Edwin van der Sar, it’s now seemingly a foregone conclusion that the two parties’ fates will align come July.
