Europa League: Valencia Stage Mighty Comeback While Benfica, Juventus And Sevilla All Reach Last Four (Photos)

By Alan Duffy

Valencia’s incredible comeback was the most dramatic game of the last night’s Europa League quarter-final action. 3-0 down against handy Swiss side Basel from the first leg, the once great La Liga club fought back to win 5-0 in extra-time, with Basel seeing two men sent off. What drama!

Elsewhere, a trademark Andrea Pirlo free-kick helped Juventus on their way to a 2-1 win in Turin against Lyon (3-1 on aggregate) while Sevilla hammered Port 4-0, despite having a player sent off in the second period, to win 4-2 on aggregate. Europa Leagues stalwarts Benfica also made it into the semi courtesy of a Rodrigo-inspired 2-0 win (3-0 on aggregate) over AZ Alkmaar. Enjoy the photos…
