Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Southampton – Premier League – 5th October 2014
Tottenham got back to winning ways on Sunday and in doing so ended Southampton’s recent good run of form. Danish playmaker was the goal-hero for the Lilywhites, netting on 40 minutes after a Nacer Chadli lay-off. The Belgian then saw his own shot come back off the post as the north Londoners produced some fine attacking football
After the break, the Saints pushed for an equaliser, with Saido Mane missing their best chance to get back in the game but overall Spurs were good value for their win which sees them go sixth, just two points behind third-place Southampton.
