This weekend at Old Trafford, Leicester City could lift the Premier League title after Tottenham fluffed their lines against West Brom on Monday night, only managing a less-than-desirable 1-1 draw against Tony Pulis’ side.

To add insult to injury, midfielder Dele Alli was caught on camera punching Claudio Yacob, which could end the England starlet’s season three games early.

In the first-half, whilst contesting a set-piece, newly-crowned PFA Young Player of the Year Alli landing a dig into the midriff of Baggies’ hardman Yacob, something which escaped the notice of the officials but not the cameras…

That action could now see Alli banned for the final three games of the season, although with Leicester now seven points clear at the top of the table, Tottenham’s hopes of a title success look very remote anyway.

As for the game itself, defender Craig Dawson scored at both ends (an own-goal for Spurs in the first-half and a leveller for West Brom after the break), with the frustrated hosts hitting the woodwork three times.

While Mauricio Pochettino and co. now look highly unlikely to peg back Leicester at the top of the table, Tony Pulis’ Baggies go 13th, a healthy 10 points clear of the drop-zone.

Haha, what was that all about? I did not put Alli down as a hard man!

Looking forward to hearing his excuse.

If that is a “punch,” I need to get in the ring with Conor McGregor in a few weeks, as no doubt I would KO him in about five seconds on that showing. What a farce.

At least it comes on the same day that Vardy got an extra game’s ban because a referee, that had an absolute shocker, was seemingly mortally offended (read: out to make a name for himself) by a few four letter words in the heat of one of the most important games of Leicester’s history.

Swearing at a referee does not necessarily attract a punishment; however calling a ref a sweary name (which Vardy most definitely did) is a sending off offence. Compare and contrast this with the two game ban handed to Wayne Rooney for saying the “F” word into a TV camera which was thrust into his face at West Ham during the title run-in in 2011 – in a game which wasn’t broadcast live but nevertheless the BBC chose not to edit it out of the MOTD highlights – and I reckon Vardy got off relatively lightly.
