Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly exploring the prospect of introducing a landmark shirt sponsorship deal that would see four different companies sign up to have their logos emblazoned across their shirts – one in the Premier League, one in the Champions League, and the other two being used in both of the domestic cup campaigns.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is looking to broker the unprecedented contracts after struggling to find a single benefactor willing to meet the £10 million yearly payment that he is hoping to secure – a considerable mark up from the annual £8.5 million that previous sponsors Mansion paid for the privilege.
Deliberations are set to rumble on past the start of the season, so we are probably going to see Spurs taking to the pitch in ‘plain’ shirts come their opening Premier League fixture, which is no bad thing!
