Tottenham Striker Jermain Defoe To Undergo Surgery
TOTTENHAM striker Jermain Defoe will finally undergo surgery on his troublesome groin, but only after playing in tonight’s Champions League play-off second leg against Young Boys of Switzerland.
Defoe, who has been struggling with the injury since the World Cup, was initially scheduled to go under the knife last Thursday but the surgeon that Spurs handpicked to perform the procedure was unavailable. As is, the surgery has now been re-scheduled for next Tuesday.
The striker will then be sidelined for a further two-to-four weeks, meaning he will almost definitely miss England’s European Championship qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland.
