West Ham Nearing Double Striker Swoop
By Chris Wright

Benni and Guddy: West Ham’s new look front line?
West Ham stand to be two strikers to the good by this time tomorrow, as it is believed that both Benni McCarthy and Eidur Gudjohnsen have agreed terms with The Hammers. The pair’s transfers will go through subject to them passing their respective medicals on Wednesday.
McCarthy will join on a two-and-a-half year deal from Blackburn Rovers for a fee reported to be somewhere between £1.5 – £3 million.
Gudjohnsen will initially be signed on a six month loan from AS Monaco with a view to extending the deal in the summer. The Icelandic forward has already passed the first stage of his medical at Upton Park today and will undergo a second (and presumably final) set of tests tomorrow afternoon.
