David Luiz Says Goodbye To Chelsea ‘Geezers’ On Instagram As Massive £50m PSG Transfer Looms

By Chris Wright

Soccer - UEFA Champions League - Semi Final - Second Leg - Chelsea v Atletico Madrid - Stamford Bridge

It’s still sinking in with us, but Chelsea have confirmed today that they have agreed terms with PSG for the eye-watering £50million sale of David Luiz, subject to the Brazilian defender agreeing terms and passing his medical at the Ligue 1 champions.

With his departure imminent, Luiz took to Instagram to write an emotional farewell to the friends he’s leaving behind after a thoroughly successful three-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge: his team-mates, staff and even his “geezers” in the terraces…

So long David. Shine on you crazy diamond!

I wish all athletes, nah…all people, could be this classy and reverential when moving on. Very, very cool to say thanks in such a nice way. Too often social media is used to fuel negative energy. This is ++ energy all the way. Good luck in Paris, my Man.

  2. Straight Dave says:

“Thoroughly successful”? Who are you kidding? He’s been woeful.

  3. Del says:

Wow, his english has really come along in just 3 and half years. I remember when it was all he could do to say “I love Chelsea”

Anyway I’m gonna miss seeing him and his crazy hair out there on the pitch. So long geezer :(
