Javier Hernandez is set for a return to the Premier League, after West Ham agreed a £16m deal with German side Bayer Leverkusen for the Mexican striker.

The 29-year-old will now fly to London to agree personal terms and complete a medical.

‘Chicharito’ netted an impressed 59 goals in 157 games for Manchester United, after joining the Red Devils in 2010.

The striker then moved to the Bundesliga in 2015, scoring a superb haul of 39 goals in 76 games for Leverkusen.

Mexico’s all-time leading scorer with 48 goals, Hernandez now returns to England with the fee of £16m looking like very good business for West Ham, considering the player is still under 30.

Together with Joe Hart and Marko Arnautovic, the ‘Little Pea’ will seriously strengthen a Hammers’ side looking to improved on a mediocre 2016/17 campaign.

Very, very good signing. And very cheap too.

PS: Chicharito is almost 30? My god, I’m really getting old…

West Ham actually starting to spend all that extra cash from the new stadium I see (what happened last summer?!) . Making some good signings by the looks of it now though, I’d be pleased if I was a hammer
