Rene ‘The Scorpion’ Higuita comes out of retirement
Rene Higuita, the goalkeeper famous for his huge perm, wandering ways and Scorpion Kick, has returned to his native Colombia at the age of 41 to sign for second-division side Deportivo Rionegro. According to Goal.com, ‘Higuita spent 2007 playing for Guaros de Lara in Venezuela under Colombian coach Jaime De La Pava after returning to the game from two years of self-enforced retirement’.
This can only be good news for South American football, as long as Rene hasn’t curbed his eccentric ways. Or his eccentric hairstyle.

Awesomeness from Higuita’s right peg, and also from the commentator.
