Reading 0-0 Queens Park Rangers – Premier League – 28th April 2013

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Reading v Queens Park Rangers - Madejski Stadium

In a disappointing game lacking the quality of a top tier clash, the Grim Reaper of relegation finally caught up with both Reading and QPR at the Madejski.

Both sides came close to scoring but ultimately it was a poor game worthy of two sides not good enough to stay in the Premier League.

Harry Redknapp’s revolution had little or no real effect on the Hoops’ hopes of survival with the former Spurs coach now bracing himself for a fire sale of the club’s mega-earners in the summer.

Nigel Adkins was given far too little time to make any kind of real impact and will have already starting preparing for next season’s Championship.

I wonder what Neil Warnock thinks of it all at ?

  1. Jarren says:

I have a lot of sympathy for Redknapp, he’s got so many mercenary leeches that he can’t get rid of.

The best thing for QPR would be to start afresh with young local lads who care about the team along with some experienced guys who play for the love of the game.

    Good luck with that.

  2. Cosa says:

I think you’re being a little unfair on the game. It was open and entertaining for the most part and there were plenty of changes. The only thing it lacked was any real quality, end product, passion. Tony Fernandez is a hugely amusing character.

  3. Graham says:

How anyone has sympathy for Redknapp, I don’t know.
He was in this for a paycheck, plain as anything. A good, competent manager is able to galvanize his team. Redknapp was content to blow Fernandes’ bankroll, sit back and collect his wage.

He’ll fuck off for a while and then come sniffing when the sack race heats up next season.

  4. Jerry says:

I had the misfortune of watching this game and could not get it out of my head that it was fixed. These teams were fighting relegation? Is laughing and joking on the pitch during a relegation battle normal? The turnovers were so damn poor I really thought they were intentional. Regardless, a real blight to the league and glad they are gone.

  5. Jarren says:

I can’t understand how people seem to automatically jump on Redknapp as if he’s the devil incarnate yet don’t mention the frankly disgusting behaviour of Bosingwa.

Redknapp is staying at QPR next season and with the right players he could bring them right back up again.

I hope he flogs Bosingwa for 5 quid, I don’t care where.

Bosingwa’s antics after Chelsea won the CL was horrible enough (hogging the trophy when he did fuck all compared to the likes of Cole, Lampard & Drogba), but having a right old laugh walking down the tunnel after QPR were relegated just showed what kind of man he is.

And people ignore that, and slate Redknapp?
