Here we have a bit of an Irish classic, with Finn Harps defender Terry Leake composing himself before scoring an exquisite own goal against North-West Derby rivals Derry City in the League of Ireland Premier Division in 1989 – with Leake nabbing the ball away from one of his own players, taking his time to get it all under control in his own box and then scooping a delightful finish over his own keeper in a flawless display of totally shite technique…

Golden. Truly golden.

    For the younger viewers: a back pass into the keeper’s hands was still allowed back then, that’s probably what he was going for. Nevertheless…what a GOAL!
