Napoli forward Dries Mertens has launched a low-level Twitter campaign to track down a schoolboy from a village in southeastern Guinea after spotting the little chap wearing one of his replica shirts in a National Geographic photo.
The Belgian international spotted the youngster after the image of a French class being taught at the school in Meliandou was shared by professional photographer Pete Muller.
Noticing that the camo-themed Napoli shirt was a few season old, Mertens announced that he is hoping to get in touch with the boy and provide him with the latest incarnation of his work uniform…
A lovely gesture, though looking at the state of the latest Napoli shirts (faux denim and neon green do not good bedfellows make), we’re not overly sure the little lad would actually want one!
