£32million man Christian Benteke marked his debut for Liverpool with a cracking goal against Swindon Town on Sunday. Taking a pass on his chest, the former Villa man turned and then buried a volley into the top corner of the Robins’ net.
The goal just after the break in the friendly game at the County Ground, in a game which also saw Roberto Firmino start. The game would eventually end in a 2-1 win for Brendan Rodgers’ men, with Sheyi Ojo bagging the winner after Jonathan Obika had levelled the scores.
Judging by this impressive debut, the 24-year-old Benteke may well be the man to kickstart the Reds after a disappointing 2014/15 campaign.
