While progress can best be described as ‘stuttering’, Milan did battle to a hard-fought 2-1 win over Lazio in Serie A on Sunday evening.
The Rossoneri continue to tread water down in 7th place, but the impressive result did constitute their fourth win in five matches in what has been a largely mediocre season thus far.
However, team morale doesn’t seem to be an issue, with Gattuso doing a grand job of clubbing his players together against a common enemy: himself.
Indeed, the 40-year-old assembled his charges in a huddle in the middle of the San Siro and invited them to take out their frustrations by slapping their mean old head coach…
Gattuso SUPER MASTERCLASS:
He is asked why the after match celebration getting slapped in the middle of the team:
Gattuso: “I just want to make them happy, especially the players angry with me because are on the bench, so now they have chance to slap me” pic.twitter.com/KsBGR0lvw0— Tancredi Palmeri (@tancredipalmeri) January 28, 2018
Speaking shortly after having seven bells knocked out of him, Gattuso told reporters:
I just want to make them (my team) happy, especially the players who are angry with me because are on the bench, so now they have chance to slap me.
What a man. Honestly, we’d expect nothing less.
