Borussia Dortmund 1-2 Zenit St. Petersburg (Agg: 5-4) – Champions League Last 16 2nd Leg – 19th March 2014
Germans giants Dortmund produced a less-than-impressive display at home to Zenit on Wednesday, going down 2-1 in Germany. However, the home side still progressed thanks to their first-leg 4-2 win a few weeks back.
Brazilian wideman Hulk netted a superb opening goal as the visitors pushed to get themselves back into the tie. However, veteran midfielder Sebastian Kehl leveled the scores just before half-time.
After the break, Jose Rondon’s goal again made things nervy for Dortmund but ultimately last season’s finalists held on to make it through to the last eight.
