Manchester United stuck four unanswered goals past Club Brugge in the second leg of their Champions League qualifier to rack up a massive 7-1 aggregate victory over their Belgian hosts.

Wayne Rooney helped himself to a critic-silencing hat-trick, while the unfavoured Ander Herrera once again trumped Louis van Gaal’s obvious lack of faith in him be adding the fourth.

At the other end of the spectrum, poor old Javier Hernandez was forced to endure a nightmare cameo after coming on for the last half an hour.

The woebegone Mexican striker entered the fray with a face like a smacked arse and proceeded to fumble his way through the remainder of the game, even missing a penalty during the latter stages after slipping during his run-up…

Van Gaal’s reactionary glance at his assistant Ryan Giggs summed it up nicely…

“Ryan, go and get West Ham on the phone”

However, Chicharito wasn’t finished there – missing this sitter during the final few minutes just to put the icing on the dog turd…

And with that, it very much looks like that’s all she wrote as far as Hernandez’s United career is concerned.
