Coming as a surprise to precisely nobody, Marseille have confirmed that Abou Diaby has pulled up with an injury during today’s training session.
Coach Miguel Gonzalez confirmed as much in his press conference this afternoon, informing all and sundry that Diaby (who is still only 29) suffered a calf injury during the session and as such has been ruled out for an undetermined period of time.

This coming just a fortnight or so after Diaby fought back to fitness and took his place on the bench for Marseille’s recent Coupe de France win over amateur side Trelissac.
The ex-Arsenal crock has now clocked up 100 seperate career injuries (or somewhere close to that) now, so he definitely deserves kudos for keeping medical professionals all over the world in gainful employment since 2007.
In all seriousness, according to Transfermarkt‘s reliable data, Diaby has spent a cumulative total of 1,531 days out injured during his professional career.
That’s a little over four years.
