Following hot on the heels of Penarol striker Lucas Viatri, Tigres winger Jurgen Damm has become the second high-profile footballer to injure himself with pyrotechnics over the festive period.
According to Universal Deportes, Damm was taken to hospital on New Year’s Eve after suffering first degree burns when a “rocket exploded in his face”.
Tigres duly confirmed that the 25-year-old will be sidelined for the next two weeks while he recuperates, thus missing the start of the Clausura season.

Damm, son.
Quite honestly, Pies have never really seen the sense in allowing hopeless amateurs to purchase large boxes of explosives once or twice a year.
