What with the “sick snub” he received from the club last year (which later turned out to be a complete fallacy anyway), Manchester City have gone to great lengths to wish precious little petunia Yaya Toure many happy returns on his 32nd birthday today.
First of all, every single one of the club’s official social media channels wished the midfielder a very happy birthday.

Are they taking the piss? It’s hard to know.
Anyway, City also organised a second little treat for Toure on his big day, stuffing a hefty slice of birthday money into the midfielder’s card in the shape of his £720,000 Champions League qualification bonus.
Yep. According to the Daily Mail, due to one of the many clauses in Toure’s enormous contract, the midfielder was entitled to a whopping great €1million bonus as soon as City secured themselves Champions League football for next season.
Certainly beats a pair of novelty socks and a Toblerone, doesn’t it?
