Stoke City 1-1 Manchester United – Premier League – 1st January 2015 

Manchester United extended their unbeaten run to 10 league games after a hard-fought draw at the Britannia Stadium on Thursday.

The Potters opened the scoring after just two minutes, courtesy of a close-ranger effort from Ryan Shawcross, who was impressive throughout. However, Radamel Falcao levelled the scored on 26 after a corner. In the second period, both sides had chances although it was Stoke who came closest to securing all three points, with Peter Crouch hitting the woodwork and Chris Smalling’s handball in the box missed by by ref Michael Oliver.

The Potters are 10th while Louis van Gaal’s Red Devils are now nine points behind leaders Chelsea, having played a game more.
