Bedraggled, scrawny and willing: Darren Fletcher
After joining as a boy and spending his entire career at Manchester United, it looks like its the end of the road at Old Trafford for Darren Fletcher, with the Scottish midfielder looking increasingly likely to join West Ham in the next couple of days.
Indeed, by all accounts Fletch is currently in the midst of a medical at the Hammers, meaning he’s currently on the cusp of leaving the only professional club he’s know for the past 20 years.
Fletcher has made over 350 senior appearances for United over the past 12 years; winning five Premier League titles, one FA Cup and a Champions League (among several other bits and bobs) therein before long-term illness and a change of guard derailed his place in the first team.
Here’s the wee fella, all fresh faced and bonny, on the day Fletch joined United from Tynecastle Boys Club in 1995 – and to be fair, Darren looks fairly youthful there too…
Aww.
Hardman Fletch says…
“Don’t go gettin soft on me or I’ll claw ye f**kin eyes oot ye big jessie”
