Having already had his water bottle half-inched by a mischievous fan during his Premier League debut, Bastian Schweinsteiger is quickly acclimatising to English football’s world-renowned and respected brand of banter since signing for Manchester United.
Nattering away to German newspaper Bild, Schweinsteiger has been relaying tall tales of the hi-larious hi-jinks he’s being subjected to by his new colleagues at Old Trafford – revealing in the process that things are even nuttier than we thought at United these days.
Schweinsteiger told Bild:
The English have a special sense of humour. This I immediately experienced in the dressing room.
As I walked with two plates while eating, suddenly a teammate asked me ‘Basti, what time is it?’ – Hoping I would automatically turn my hand to look at my watch.
That’s quite entertaining.
Steady on people, there’s a new Crazy Gang in town and these guys are even crazier than the last lot!
Hooray for #banter.
