Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands at Old Trafford on Sunday, as Manchester United could only draw against West Ham, a result which leaves the Red Devils 11 points behind leaders Chelsea.

Mourinho was dismiised by referee Jon Moss after his reaction to a yellow card given to Paul Pogba for diving, with the Portuguese coach kicking a water bottle away (with impressive force!)…

However, Mourinho’s frustration at the decision was rather misplaced, with Pogba pulling off a quite magnificent dive…

Moss and Mourinho do have history though, with the referee also sending the manager to the stands in October 2015 when Chelsea played West Ham.

The Red Devils’s boss was sent off by Mark Clattenburg  last month during his side’s 0-0 draw at home to Burnley and this second dismissal, albeit a bit harsh, is sure to cop him a hefty fine.

As for the action on the field, Diafra Sakho opened the scoring within the first two minutes, heading home from a Dimitri Payet free-kick.

However, soon after, the hosts drew level iva Zlatan Ibrahimovic after a sumptuous pass from Pogba…

The result makes it four league games in a row without a win for United at Old Trafford, as their mediocre season continues.

Slaven Bilic’s West Ham, on the other hand, will be pleased with the point, which sees them go 16th, one point clear of the drop-zone.

United are playing well, there’s no real problem like when LVG or Moyes were in charge. They are dominating, they are shooting, they are playing good passes with objective… they have talent, money, a great manager and the results will come. Conceding goals with one, two minutes played is not normal but they are not doing anything terribly wrong. Sometimes you have momentum and sometimes you have the opposite of momentum and that’s where United are now, but it will change.
Pogba is starting to play like Pogba, Bailly will be back, Martial / Mkhitaryan will eventually come good, Mata is on the same level as Silva (and above Ozil because, unlike Ozil, Mata delivers in big games).
United need some time to find the right starting eleven, for the new players to settle and adjust to Mourinho… All that plus one summer transfer window to make some adjustments (Darmian, Schneiderlin, Depay must be replaced, in my opinion) and they’ll be fighting for top honours again.
Jose is still Jose and United is still United. They just need some time to find their way again. They were under the same manager for 26 years, not four seasons. And I do believe that Mourinho is replacing Ferguson because Moyes and LVG were never going to succeed.
