Manchester United made it six wins in a row on Saturday, courtesy of a hard-fought but ultimately deserved 2-1 home win against Middlesbrough.
After the game, MUTV’s regular post-match phone-in was full of positivity from fans, with a certain Mr. Usain Bolt from Jamaica getting through to have his say. Except, rather awkwardly, MUTV host Mandy Henry didn’t believe it was indeed the global megastar.
Late goals from Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba won the game for the Red Devils, who had to come from behind after Grant Leadbitter had given ‘Boro a shock lead midway through the second-half.
Sprinting superstar and hardcore United fan Bolt was thrilled enough to phone MUTV, only for the presenter to fail to recognise him.
“Our next caller is in Jamaica, we’re heading over there to speak to Usain – it’s not Usain Bolt is it?”, said Henry. “It is Usain Bolt, it is Usain Bolt”, replied the bemused superstar.
A win that felt so good even @UsainBolt felt compelled to ring #MUTVHD! #MUFC pic.twitter.com/5KDeJuLWI4

After the call, the great man himself took to Twitter…
Come on lad of course it was me on @ManUtd TV just now

Before an embarrassed Henry, finally aware of her very special phone-in guest, Tweeted an apology…
Sorry Usain – we didn’t think it was you! Enjoy your celebrations in Jamaica & call again after West Ham on Monday night! https://t.co/64hfB6l5Gk

To be fair to the MUTV host and indeed, any phone-in host, they get more than their fair share of nutters calling in, so a healthy level of suspicion is understandable.
