Congratulations to Helena Costa who has today become the first ever female manager in the men’s professional game after taking over at the helm of French Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot.
Costa, who is 36-years-old, Portuguese and started her coaching career at Benfica and has most recently been in charge of both the Qatar and Iran women’s national sides, was appointed by Clermont and will take over sole charge of first-team affairs at the club as of next season – as confirmed by an official statement released via the club’s website earlier this morning.
We’d like to think we speak on behalf of the Pies faithful when we wish her the very best of luck!
