‘Twas the 11th annual ‘Match Against Poverty’ last night, with Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo once again assembling their stellar teams, chock-full of legendary names, to square off in the name of charity.
As always, the rosters were absolutely stellar – with the likes of Robert Pires, Youri Djorkaeff, Paolo Maldini, Steve McManaman, Ruud Gullit, Christian Vieri, Hidetoshi Nakata, Fabio Cannavaro and Jamie Carragher all turning out for the occasion – making Luis Figo’s dressing room “group selfie” (okay, we know it’s not actually a selfie) a thing of exquisite beauty and putting Ellen DeGeneres’ paltry Oscar night ensemble shot to shame…
