Here’s Mesut Ozil having his vital statistics dutifully measured ahead of his waxwork being produced by the Madame Tussaud’s in Berlin.
The choice of player to be immortalised in wax was put to the public vote and Ozil came out on top, meaning that, when his effigy goes on display in June, he will be the first ever active Germany player to have done so…
Ozil wrote on his Facebook wall:
“Starting in June 2013, I will be able to visit myself because then “I” will be at Madame Tussauds’ wax museum in Berlin.
“I am proud that I will be the only active German player standing at Madame Tussauds and I am especially proud that I therefore got chosen by the fans.
“I just got “measured” in Madrid and I am curious about how I will look like as a wax figure.”
May we suggest that Madame Tussaud’s start trying to source a couple of suitably boggly eyes post-haste. Maybe see if you can borrow some from the tarsier display case at the Natural History Museum…
